MTD Recalls Utility Vehicles Due to Fire Hazard
What was recalled
The recalled utility vehicle is a four-wheel-drive vehicle with "Cub Cadet, Tracker Edition" printed on the side panel. This vehicle has roll over protection and an open cargo bed in the back with "Volunteer" printed on the side. It is equipped with a Kohler electronic fuel-injected engine. The model/serial plate is located under the driver's seat.
Hazard
Excessive heat can cause the wiring harness to melt. This defect can result in a fire hazard to consumers.
Injuries
MTD has received five reports of heat damage to the vehicle. There have been no reports of personal injury.

- Cub Cadet dealerships and Bass Pro retail outlets nationwide under the Cub Cadet brand name from March 2008 through April 2008 for between $9,700 and $10,500.
