CPSC, Xerox International Partners Announce Retrofit of Network Laser Printers
What was recalled
These network laser printers were manufactured from January 1995 through September 1998. Model numbers are on the top of the unit and on a label located on the rear panel. The retrofit is for the following model numbers: Xerox Engineering Systems - Model 8808 Hitachi Printing Solutions America - Models Typhoon 8 and Typhoon 16 GCC Technologies - Models Elite XL408, Elite XL608, Elite XL608LC, Elite XL808, Elite XL1208, Elite XL1208 PM, and Elite XL616
Hazard
Arcing may cause the fuser assembly to overheat, posing a fire hazard.
Injuries
There have been three reports of overheating, causing minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.

- Xerox Engineering Systems, Hitachi Printing Solutions America and GCC Technologies sold the printers nationwide for prices ranging from $1,599 to $6,999.
