CPSC, Target Corp. Announce Recall of Birch/Bark Candles
What was recalled
The recalled candles were sold individually wrapped in a ribbon on a plate. This recall also includes candles sold in boxed sets of three candles under the Restore & Restyle brand. The candles are cream in color and were sold in sizes 3 by 3 inches, 3 by 6 inches, 4 by 6 inches and 6 by 6 inches.
Hazard
The birch and bark surrounding the candles can ignite, posing a fire and burn hazard.
Injuries
There have been 24 reports of the birch and bark candles catching fire and six reports of property damage. No injuries have been reported.

- Target stores nationwide, from September 2004 through March 2005, between $6 and $15.
