CPSC, Sunrise Medical Announce Recall of 3-Wheel Hand Cycle
What was recalled
The recalled hand cycles come in a variety of colors and have "SOPUR" written on both sides of the bodywork.
Hazard
There is a small risk that the quick release axles of the rear wheels do not lock correctly. If the quick release axle is not fully and properly engaged, the wheel could become detached while moving. A detached wheel could result in loss of control of the cycle and potential for serious injury or death, due to a fall or collision with another object.
Injuries
Sunrise Medical has received one report, in which the quick release failed and the rider suffered minor injuries.
Made in
Germany
Where it was sold
- Sunrise Medical dealers nationwide sold these hand cycles, from August 2001 to July 2002, for $3,300.
