CPSC, Performance Inc. Announce Recall of Bicycle Handlebar Attachments
What was recalled
The recalled Performance Forte Pro Stix Bar Ends are three to four inches in length and attach to the ends of the handlebar. Hazard
The bar ends can crack when tightened and come loose during use, which can cause riders to lose control of the bicycle and possibly suffer injuries.
Injuries
Performance Inc. has received two reports of the bar ends cracking, though no injuries have been reported.
Made in
Taiwan
Where it was sold
- Performance stores nationwide, as well as the Performance Inc. web site, sold the bar ends, from April 2002 through September 2002, for between $13 and $20.
