CPSC, Oriental Trading Company Announce Recall of Coconut Bamboo Torches
What was recalled
The Coconut Bamboo Torch was item No. 34/483. The 54" outdoor luau torch, consists of a hollowed-out coconut shell atop a bamboo pole. The lamps were shipped in cardboard boxes on which the code, type of lamp, and "Made in Philippines" is written.
Hazard
When the torch container is filled with oil, the oil may spill and burn a consumer if the torch is used improperly, moved or jostled during use.
Injuries
No injuries have been reported.

- The torches were sold nationwide through Oriental Trading Company's mail order catalog, from May 2001 through July 2001, for about $9.00.
