CPSC, Harry and David Announce Recall of Outdoor Lanterns
What was recalled
The recalled candle lanterns are approximately 5", 7", and 9" square. They are made of rustproof galvanized steel, lined with glass panels and a hanger at the top. Each lantern has a holder for placing a candle inside the lantern.
Hazard
The solder attaching the hanger at the top of the lantern may melt from the heat of a candle, causing the lantern to detach from the hanger, posing a fire hazard.
Injuries
Harry and David has received one report of the hanger detaching from the lantern. No injuries have been reported.
Where it was sold
- The lanterns were sold as a set of three, nationwide, from September 2001 through November 2001, for about $60.
