CPSC, Cables To Go Announce Recall of Power Adapters Sold with Go!Data Drive Enclosures
What was recalled
The recall involves AC power adapters sold with Go!Data 3.5-inch IDE external hard drive enclosures. The AC adapters were sold only with the drive enclosures. "PRiver" or "MoreTec" is written on the enclosures.
Hazard
A component inside the adapters can overheat, posing a risk of fire or electrical shock.
Injuries
Cables To Go has received five reports of adapters overheating, including one report of the carpet beneath the adapter being damaged. No injuries have been reported.

- The Cables to Go Web site, other Web retailers and computer and electronics stores nationwide, from May 24, 2004 through February 21, 2005, for about $55.
