CPSC, Backyard Products Announce Recall of Swings
What was recalled
This recall involves single swings and acrobatic swings sold separately or as part of the Backyard Products wood gym set. Additional options to the gym sets include overhead ladders, slides, swings, and forts. A yellow, triangular metal gusset on the gym sets contains the brand name, "Backyard Products™" followed by "Collingwood, ON Canada." Model names and numbers are located on the assembly instructions.
Hazard
Chains on the swing can detach during use, and cause the child to fall to the ground and possibly suffer injuries.
Injuries
The company had received 31 reports of chains breaking, resulting in five reports of injuries, including a sore back, cut lip, and bumps and bruises.

Where it was sold
- Department, toy and discount stores nationwide, from December 2003 through April 2004, for between $300 and $1,200 for the sets. The swings were sold separately, from January 2004 through April 2004, for between $12 and $16.
